With a 20 year background in the skilled trades, I have always had an interest in why things work the way they do. I decided to go back to school in my 30's and see how far I could take that interest. A combination of life experiences propelled me into psychology and in that field have found one of the most profoundly meaningful "trades" I have ever encountered.

What is mastery, and how do we attain it? What makes things that we do meaningful? Is the meaning we have enough to propel us toward the vision we have? Do we even have a cohesive vision? Why do anything at all, in a world that seems meaningless and cruel? Let's talk about it.

In my experience in correctional and community mental health settings, I have conversed with people from many walks of life who are asking these questions, in many different ways, with many different words. I believe that every human being wants to know that what we are doing with our lives counts for something. When trauma and loss threaten to undo us, where do we look for hope?

I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) where we can discover the connections between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. There are many tools at your disposal to be found in CBT, as well as in Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) where we just get to the nuts and bolts of a problem and seek solutions. We don't have to talk about your mom.

All this is placed under an umbrella of existentialism, where we become partners in exploring your big questions in life— including meaning, purpose, freedom, responsibility, isolation, and mortality, what ever matters to you.
